Bandits
Bandits Bruce Willis, Billy Bob Thornton, and Cate Blanchett star in the comedy Bandits directed by Barry Levinson.
Plot:
Joe Blake (Willis) and Terry Collins (Thornton) decide suddenly to escape from prison. They will need money, for their plan to go to Mexico, so how are they going to get it? Robbing banks, robbing a lot of banks. They earn the name 'The Sleep-over Bandits' after they begin to kidnap the bank managers the night before they rob the bank itself. Along the way they pick up the ever beautiful Kate Wheeler (Blanchett), after she runs away from her husband. As both the men become romantically involved with Kate... things get more complicated to say the least but non the less, together the team is unstoppable... well sort of. And let me mention it is a true story.
Worth Rental Price?
Yes. Bandits is a funny and clever Buddy movie. The performances are great! I do so love the ending!

Requiem For A Dream
REQUIEM FOR A DREAM
Ellen Burstyn, Jared Leto, and Jennifer Connelly star in the visionary hell of Requiem for a Dream, from the director of PI.
Plot.
Though this isn't a new release, I thought it was amazing and decided to do a review on it.
Harry Goldfarb (Leto) and Marion Silver (Connelly) are two lovers addicted to Heroine and will do anything to get it. The two and their friend decide to get into the business of selling, which proves to be harder than it seems. Harry and Marion hope to open their own small business and live happily ever after but when the town goes dry their true addictions are uncovered.
Harry's mother is having her own problems after she is prescribed a diet pill to lose weight before she is to be a guest on television. She begins abusing the pills and suddenly is trapped in the hell of her own house, her own mind.
This story all leads to a stunning last thirty minutes that is sure to leave your eyes glued to the screen.
Worth The Price of Rental?
Yes. Yes. Yes. This movie is the most harrowing, hypnotic, and utterly moving pictures I have ever seen. Though it isn't for everybody, but if you are in the mood to suddenly be pumped with acid, and watch four characters melt down to their terrifying cores... this is a movie for you. And, I can't help to utter... WOW.
Other Reviews:
"It is hard to watch but impossible to look away. Caring deeply about each of the characters, we would no more turn away from them than we would a loved one."

-- Peter Brunette, FILM.COM

-- Robin Clifford, REELING REVIEWS

Panic Room
PANIC ROOM Jodie Foster, Kristin Stewart, Forest Whitaker, and Jared Leto star in David Fincher's Panic Room.
Plot:
Meg Altman (Foster) and her child Sarah Altman (Stewart) move into a new house after leaving the father behind. The house is huge, amazing and with a price to match. But Meg makes it clear her ex-husband will be paying for it anyway. The two move into the mansion right away.
It's a perfect house in every way, they are happy for that 20 minutes... until three strangers (Leto, Whitaker) break in to search for a hidden treasure- 22 Million dollars. Meg and Sarah lock themselves in the Panic Room, a secure room built just for a situation like the one they now find themselves. They hope it will all blow over as long as they stay in the room, but they soon find out what the men want is in the Panic Room itself.
Worth Ticket Price?
Hell yes! Not only is Panic Room completely invoking and very suspenseful but the cast is amazing and the direction is that of a master. This is worth every penny of the ticket price, and I am going to see it again as soon as I can.
Other Reviews on Panic Room:
"A perfect, flawless, suspense filled thriller that presents a story of survival so simple and so realistic that there is no way you'll be able to turn your head away from the screen."
-- Chuck Schwartz, CRANKY CRITIC®
"A superb exercise in eliciting suspense out of simple, progressively sticky situations."
-- Dustin Putman, THEMOVIEBOY.COM
"A class act from its elegant opening titles to its intense, nail-biting climax."

Original Sin
ORIGINAL SIN Antonio Banderas and Angelina Jolie star in Original Sin.
Plot:
The plot is one difficult to explain... but here goes... Wealthy Cuban coffee merchant Luis Vargas (Banderas) only knows his bride-to-be through letters of love. And when he finally meets Julia (Jolie) on their wedding day, he is astounded and left breathless by her beauty and smoldering sexuality. But behind that beauty, a devious mind is at work. And when he finds his business in ruins, his life in shambles and his new wife on the run, Luis begins a relentless pursuit for the woman who not only stole his money, but also his heart and he'll stop at nothing to get her back!
Worth The Price of Rental?
Actualy, despite what I have read in some many other places... it's a not half bad movie! Angelina and Antonio don't make the perfect couple, but the twists and turns are great! This is not a movie for everyone's tastes but it's worth a rent.
Other Reviews:
"Makes for an extremely well-acted movie." -- Joe Baltake, Sacramento Bee.
